Given the lack of sufficient documentary sources on the historical evolution of the Pedagogy group of the Higher Pedagogical Institute (ISP) “Frank País” of Santiago de Cuba and due to the importance of this knowledge for students in pedagogical training, an investigation was carried out with mixed approach and the objective: to prepare a Teaching Material on the historical development of the Pedagogy collective of the ISP “Frank País”, supported by a theoretical foundation on the historical-pedagogical process. The Teaching Material is structured in parts, which include the creation of the Institute and the evolution of the Department of Pedagogy, the group of Pedagogy teachers and functions, subjects by year, practitioners of the ISP “Enrique José Varona” and doctoral studies in the USSR. Includes some testimonies to make knowledge more motivating. Theoretical methods were used: historical-logical, which contributed to assessing the historical evolution of the Pedagogy group, analytical-synthetic, deepened the knowledge about the group and specified essential aspects, inductive-deductive, favored precision about the content. investigated and then its primary particularities were deduced and the systemic-structural-functional justified the system nature of the prepared Teaching Material. Among the empirical methods, a survey and interview with teachers were applied to obtain information about the historical evolution of the group and the analysis of documents that allowed us to verify details about subject meetings, department, events, etc. through minutes, reports and presentations. Statistical-mathematical methods such as percentage analysis and the treatment of tables and graphs were also used. The quality of the Teaching Material and compliance with the research objective was checked.
