Keywords:
literacy, Information and Comunication Technologies, digital educational mediaAbstract
The integration of Information and Comunication Technologies constitutes a growing phenomenon in the educational processes of the 21st century. This event has become a necessity for education professionals at all levels of education, particularly in primary education, where children acquire the ability to read and write, knowledge that will accompany them throughout their lives. The present work aims to characterize the integration of Information and Communication Technologies into the Teaching-Learning Process of reading and writing in the first grade of primary education. Theoretical, empirical, and statistical methods were used for the research, which led to the achievement of the results. Theoretical references related to the integration of Information and Comunication Technologies into the Teaching-Learning Process of literacy were systematized. The results of the diagnostic assessment conducted with first grade teachers at the six selected schools in La Lisa demonstrate the current shortcomings in the integration of Information and Comunication Technologies into the literacy and writing Teaching-Learning Process in first grade. The most significant aspect in this regard is that this integration is not systematic, and the limited existence of Digital Educational Materials in schools, and the poor design of this type of teaching medium by teachers.
