The Scientific and Technical Information Directorate houses the collection of 4,128 undergraduate theses defended at the School of Pedagogy established by Enrique José Varona between 1901 and 1958. The preservation of these theses is not only important for safeguarding the historical memory of current Cuban pedagogy and education; it also facilitates their open access for educational historical research. The objective of this article is to propose the procedure followed by the Scientific and Technical Information Directorate (DICT) for the digitization and publication of undergraduate theses. Different theoretical methods were used, such as analysis-synthesis, documentary and content analysis, and synthesis as a method and procedure, as well as the tools and techniques inherent to information management, specifically, the process of information search and retrieval. The results of the procedure followed for digitizing the theses were achieved, allowing them to be converted into Open Educational Resources (OER) visible from a repository. This is in synergy with the heritage collection conservation project being developed at the center as research. In the Discussion section, the search and retrieval of information focused on the process of digitizing documentary sources, and some definitions are provided. The conclusion is the advantages of digitizing the 100 TGs for consultation from the DICT website and the University Portal.
