La formación humanística en la educación superior, es un componente indispensable de la formación integral del profesional, que exige la sociedad actual del siglo XXI. Aunque muchos han destacado las dificultades que se han presentado en este campo, por diversas razones, no debe desconocerse la trascendencia de lo humanístico, en su función de preparar a los estudiantes universitarios, para que se conviertan en: ciudadanos con altos valores ideopolíticos, éticos y estéticos, profesionales cultos, competentes, independientes y creadores, para que puedan desempeñarse exitosamente en los diversos sectores de la economía y de la sociedad en general. El artículo presenta una propuesta de cómo se contribuye a través de la enseñanza de la asignatura Filosofía y Sociedad, en la Universidad de las Ciencias Informáticas a la formación humanística del profesional de las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones.
Abstract:
The humanist formation in Higher Education is an essential component of the integral formation of the future professional that the society in this century is demanding. Although difficulties about this field have been pointed out, it is valid to recognize the significance of humanities to prepare university students as citizens with high ideological, political, ethical and aesthetical values; that is, cultured, competent and independent creators that can successfully perform in the different fields of economy and society in general. This article presents a proposal of contributing to the humanist formation of the Informatics Engineer through philosophy and society, one of the subjects of their curriculum.
