La evaluación de traducciones no es algo reciente. Aunque inicialmente se asociaba con la valoración de traducciones de textos sagrados, actualmente se divide en tres áreas: evaluación de traducciones publicadas, la evaluación del trabajo de traductores profesionales y la evaluación en la enseñanza de la traducción. En dependencia de cada una de estas áreas se persiguen objetivos distintos y por tanto, el análisis se concentra en aspectos diferentes. En el presente artículo se hará referencia, primeramente, a los tipos de evaluación que existen atendiendo a su función, y posteriormente, se abordarán aspectos relevantes en la evaluación de la calidad de las traducciones en contextos universitarios, como son la competencia traductora y algunas clasificaciones sobre los errores de traducción. Se presentarán algunas de las clasificaciones de error de traducción que han propuesto distintos autores y que pueden utilizarse para evaluar el desempeño de los estudiantes en la enseñanza de la traducción.
Abstract.
Translation evaluation is not a recent development. Although initially associated with the evaluation of translations of sacred texts, it is currently divided into three areas: evaluation of published translations, evaluation of the work of professional translators, and evaluation in translation teaching. Depending on each of these areas, different objectives are pursued and, therefore, the analysis focuses on different aspects. This article will first refer to the types of evaluation that exist according to their function, and then will deal with relevant aspects in the evaluation of translation quality in university contexts, such as translator competence and some classifications of translation errors. Therefore, some of the translation error classifications that have been proposed by different authors and that can be used to evaluate the performance of students in translation teaching will be presented.
