Abstract:
Introduction of informatics into education meets the purpose of improving quality in teaching. Great efforts are done to guarantee conditions for the fulfilment of this objective, and it is the teacher the one in charge of its use in the carrying out of his intrinsic functions. However, these resources are not properly used in universities of pedagogical sciences. Among the causes of this situation it is the insufficient development of teachers’ informatics skills which would allow them to use these resources according to social demands and scientific-technical advance. An analysis of the term system, its components and structure is carried out; and a system for professional upgrading that develops teachers’ informatics skills at Enrique J Varona UPC is presented
