La educación que recibe el ser humano desde sus primeros años de vida es decisiva para su desarrollo futuro ya que es en estas primeras edades que se forman las simientes necesarias e indispensables para el desarrollo psíquico y la formación integral del ser humano. La familia como forma de organización humana, no puede ser sustituida, muy por el contrario esta se ha resistido a los cambios sociales. La familia se encarga de la formación de su descendencia, pues los padres educan a sus hijos según los propios patrones morales. Entre los autores cubanos que definen “la familia” se encuentra la Ares (2003), quien considera que la familia es una “(...) unidad social constituida por un grupo de personas unidas por vínculos consanguíneos, afectivos y cohabitacionales. Distinguiendo a la familia como institución social para la formación y el desarrollo de sus hijos.
